All About Marble Falls, Texas
Marble Falls, Texas is located in the heart of the Highland Lakes and Texas Hill Country areas on the Colorado River. Approximately 47 miles NW of Austin and 85 miles N of San Antonio. Marble Falls is situated on the banks of Lake Marble Falls.  

The city was named for a 20 ft. fall in the Colorado where the river cascaded over limestone ledges that were mistaken for marble. Lake Marble Falls rests between Lakes LBJ (to the north) and Travis (to the south). The falls for which the city is named are now underwater, seen only when the LCRA lowers the lake for repairs. Lake Marble Falls is the youngest and smallest of the six Highland Lakes. 

This city is well-known for its annual Lakefest Drag Boat Races, Walkway of Lights and Historic Main Street District. Even the famed Pink Granite of the Texas State Capitol Building was quarried in Marble Falls.
